As the organization that changed that shaped the fate of private satellite television in India and carved the path for a whole new industry to flourish, turned 25 years old, its founder Shri Subhash Chandra shared his thoughts. Addressing over 4000 Zee employees from across the globe, Subhashji began by congratulating every individual who has made this possible.
He also recalled one of the very first gathering of just over 50 employees after Zee had completed 150 days. Subhashji also shares 7 philosophies of working towards success. Sharing his plans for the future, Subhashji also spoke about his core beliefs. The four activities and actions that the organization is going to take on and how Subhashji plans to spend his time there.
He said, “If I count the moments of this journey it seems like a very short time frame, I remember it as if it were yesterday. In March 1993 when we celebrated 150 days of ZEE there were just fifty people in the gathering, today however there are over 4000! And if I tell you today the same thing that I said that day, it would still be applicable.”
Recalling the 90 year celebration of Essel Group in May 2017, recalled a verse and quoted, “Chariveti, Charaiveti, Chalna hi teri niyati. Which means one must keep walking and walking even further. Waiting in not in one’s destiny.” He urged each one to adopt this and work towards making the organization even bigger and taming it so it can grow in the right direction.
Talking about making Zee even bigger than it already is he shared the seven philosophies that have always and will continue to guide the organization and every individual in it. “If an organization is value-based and each individual in it follows these values, then it becomes and institution. When this happens then each individual in it is a leader. In Zee this value system will be based on philosophy, process, and results”
“If you all practice this then you don’t need me, as I said. So then what will I do. I will hold your hand for sometime so we all come on the same page,” he stated.
Posing the question about what he will do next, he said, “I believe that the human potential is the greatest infrastructure of any country. Especially in India, while some think we have too many people, but I believe contrary to that and say human resource is the biggest infrastructure of our nation. I want our fellow Indians to recognize their potential and realize their strengths so that India will be on course to becoming a super power. That is what I want to do with my foundation.”
“Pratibha ko deni hai nayi uchaai, Pragati ko banana hai desh ki nayi sacchai.”
In conclusion, he revealed the new logo of ‘Subhash Chandra’ leaving the stage with the audience reveling and applauding the inspirational speech.
