Addressing the event held in Hisar to mark completion of yearlong celebration of Golden Jubilee of Haryana, Subhash Chandra attributed the development of the state to its people and their efforts. He said, “Today, we are celebrating the completion of the golden jubilee year of Haryana that began last year. I have seen Haryana since 1966 when it came into existence. Back then the state was not like Bhagwan Shri Krishna but like Sudama. It is the people of Haryana that have worked hard and developed the state to reach where it is today. In the past three years alone the government of Shri. Manohar Lal Khattar has brought in vast development and governance to the state too.”
Subhashji also showed an audio-visual segment where he expressed his thoughts and paid tribute to the state of Haryana and its growth seen by him.
In the segment, aptly titled ‘Haryana | 51 Glorious Years’ he talks about the rich history of land. He says, “While it has been fifty-one years since the state was formed, the history of this earth is thousands of years old. The meaning of the word Haryana is ‘The abode of god’. It came into use for the first time in 1328 and Haryana is that land where the essence of ‘Bharat’ lies. Its fields are ploughed with India’s traditions and values. This land has also been witness to guile, loot and betrayals. It was here where Duryodhana tried to throttle the truth but Bhagwan Shri Krishna ultimately made the truth emerge victorious.”
He adds, “Haryana has seen the dark night of injustice turn into a bright morning. it is the land of the knowledge of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Vedic Teachings and the cradle of great Civilization of Sindhu. 5000 years ago, there was a huge commercial centre in Agroha.”
Recounting the various fields in which Haryana has significantly contributed right from bringing home medals for sports to participating in the country’s security forces. “Today entrepreneurs from Haryana have spread their wings across the globe and making a mark in the world.
“In Mahabharata, Haryana was referred to as Bahudhanya and Bahudhana (blessed with abundance). In 1809, the British took over a majority of the state but in 1857 our bravehearts took it back. Unfortunately, this lasted for just six months and it remained under the British until independence.”
Speaking about Haryana’s journey since independence and state formation in 1966, Subhashji says, “It was imperative then to develop the infrastructure, bring electricity and good roads in the state. Despite being in the proximity to Delhi it was not developed. It was not like Bhagwan Shri Krishna, as Haryana is today, but like Sudama. It is the people’s hard work that has made it what it is today.”
While Haryana occupies only 1.35% land in India, 2% of the population lives here. Hailing the agricultural development in the state he says,” Compared to 50 years ago, the contribution of Haryana to agricultural produce of India is tremendous, about 14.1%. it is a matter of Pride. The GDP has also grown from 332 crores in 1967-68 to 5 lacs 47 thousand in 2016-17. That is 1600% rise in 50 years!” He also praised how Gurugram has been developed as India’s top IT and automobile manufacturing hub.
Recounting the different efforts initiated by the Manohar Lal Khattar led government in the last three years, Subhashji says “The most important of these is the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Phadhao‘ initiative that has helped improve the sex ratio in Haryana.”
In conclusion Subhashji says,” Just like in ancient times when this land trail blazed in teachings of spirituality, agriculture and prosperity in the world it will do so again. In fact, it is already.” He said that, with agro-goods and food processing units being set up the farmer can convert his produce into a finished product that will be exported making it at least fifteen times more valuable. Just like Gurugram and Faridabad, more centres will be developed and the governnment is working towards doing that.
“This will not only generate employment but also give Haryana multidirectional growth,” He states.
