Delivering the keynote speech at the Exchange 4 Media Conclave 2017 held in Mumbai on Friday, Subhash Chandra, Chief Guest for the event, spoke about ‘Influencing the Influencers’. He said that the consumer is the biggest influencer, “In my case, it’s the viewers. The end consumers influence the influencer into taking decisions.”
Elaborating on the subject he said, “The consumer is the influencer. A person who has the capability of influencing the influencer is the leader because the leader’s prerequisite quality, no matter what, is to influence the people,”
After having transformed the television industry in India with several innovations, Subhashji revealed a the latest innovation that has already been prototyped by Zee Labs in San Hose, USA. The new product will take the audience into the fascinating world of augmented reality and will something never seen or heard of before. “Currently the screen is satisfying just the two senses and my brief to my team is that it should get to a point where it could involve all six senses.”
On the subject of ‘Leveraging Open Innovation’ he said, “If you can access what your consumer wants and you can create an innovation that your consumer wants. You can become an even larger influencer.”
“There is not single moment when you can afford that your team cannot be ahead of the curve. And how do you remain ahead? It is the attitude, the attitude of the people. Only with that you can win the game,” he added.
He shared a seven point value system that he follows to ensure that he and his team remains ahead of the game and become and keep your team as influencers.
“With this I feel that your people can become influencers.”
Answering a question about if there is fear after a win or a win waiting after over coming your fear Subhashji says, “Agar aap darengey toh jeet aapke pass kabhi ayegi nahi aur jeet ke baad agar darogey to jis cheez se darr rahe ho who aapke pass rahegi nahi ( If oyu are afraid victory will never be yours and if you fear losing what you have won that thing will will not remain yours).”
The 17th Exchange for Media Conclave was held in Mumbai on October 27, 2017. The umbrella theme for the conclave this year was ‘Leveraging Open Innovation to Engage Consumers’.
