In this episode of the Subhash Chandra Show, Subhashji discusses risk-taking and why is it said that not taking risk is the biggest risk. He talks about what it means to take risk in life and how we can change life by taking risks.
Quoting Swami Vivekanandaji, Subhashji explains the meaning of risk, ” Take risks in life. If you succeed you will give the country something good and inspire others. If you fail you can help others by pointing them in the right direction.”
He says, “If you do not take risks, you have already reject so many possibilities. And possibilities is nothing but life itself.” However he also added that risk-taking is an individualistic decision, you must not take a risk just because someone else is doing it. That would be stupidity.
Speaking about how someone who has failed guide others to take risks? Subhashji says, “It about being a positive and negative person. You must always try to be positive. Failures can teach you tremendously then is up to you how you learn from it and take that experience to do something better.”
He urges people to explore themselves, look at either sides of taking and not taking a decision that involves risk and finally do what you feel is right. However make sure you work with determination otherwise you will not succeed.
The first special guest is Shri. Irtaza Qureshi, a change-maker who has begun a home called ‘Marham’ for the homeless and destitute where they not only get the basic necessities of life but also get a second chance at life itself. He says, “my father suddenly disappeared one day in 2005. This incident and my mission to search for him gave me a glimpse of the life of the homeless and needy people.” That is when he left his job at American Express and started this. He took the risk to leave everything and finally do something about it. He says, “Not taking risk is a bigger risk.”
The second special guest is Shri. Ramesh Agarwal, who after retiring from the Indian Air Force decided to give everything away but for one rupee that he kept.He began his own business of shifting houses and is a successful entrepreneur now. Narrating his story he says,” I follow the principal: No pain, no gain.”
In conclusion Subhashji says, “There is no happiness in success, there is success in happiness.”
