In this week’s episode of The Subhash Chandra Show, Shri Subhash Chandra interacts with more than 350 entrepreneurs from the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry about the role of fear in our lives.
Subhash Ji asks the audience to tell him the reason behind their fears. Some say that is arises because we don’t want to leave our comfort zones while another audience member points out that there is also the fear of being ridiculed.
Sharing his view, he says, “When the show started I thought I would share my knowledge and experience with others. But on one side I also felt fear: I thought some people would say that he has his own media house so he is doing this show or that it something to do with his politics. But actually, from every time I learn something from the show too. The more I thought about it the more the same thought came right around: ‘Bhootkaal vyakul kare, ya bhavishya bharmaaye, vartmaan mein jo jiye to jeena aa jaaye’”
He adds, “do not let the regrets of the past affect you or let the anxiety of the future create fear in you, instead live in the present. Not living in present creates fear”
Quoting Swami Vivekananda Ji, he says, “Fear is death, fear is sin, fear is hell, fear is unrighteousness, fear is wrong life.”
During the show Subhash Ji also mentions about his own fears and how he overcame them. He says that that fear is the mind projecting within itself images of what it does not want to happen. “If the fear is not recognized and dealt with early on, it can and will find root within our consciousness. When this happens fear then becomes a daily occurrence, and if these thoughts are allowed to repeat themselves over and over again, they will eventually take an imprint on a subconscious level. Once this happens the subconscious mind begins to attract the exact experiences we have been projecting and our fears starts turning into reality i.e. while there was no possibility of our new venture to fail, the fear within us made us reiterate the failure a number of times and slowly it moves towards becoming our reality.”
Speaking about the fear of doing wrong he says that if one is afraid he will never do anything wrong or against the law. When asked about if he had more fear before achieving success or after achieving it he says, “I have seen success but I have seen more failures than success before. But people often talk about success and not failures.”
“If you have fear you cannot perform, let alone the peak. The other side of fear is anger. One loses the ability to think because of these two.”
Changemaker Smt. Lakshmi Aggarwal, an acid attack survivor and founder of the ‘Stop Acid Attack’ campaign is the first guest on the show. The journey of Laxmi ji and her survival truly illustrates how one can overcame their own fears. “The attack was very painful for me, it happened once but society reminds you about it and attacks you every single day, every moment, every second. Then why fear? Because even I am from this very society. We are all humans. I had no fear anymore.”
Subhash ji says that before the attack she was beautiful and even now she is beautiful because beauty comes from inside her. He says, “Fear is the product of our minds and in fact it impacts our existence. Because of this fear bad things can happen to us.”
The second guest on the show is motivational speaker, Shri Arun Gupta, Founder, Win over Cancer. He believes that Cancer is a beautiful disease. He says, “because cancer patients become fearless once they get to know about it, they overcome the fear of death. It changes you as a person.” He shares two mantras, never give up and pain in inevitable bur suffering is optional.
In conclusion he says , “Often we do not accept the truth easily, when something bad happens we do not accept it easily. Moment you accept the truth and begin living in the present, fear diminishes and it cannot harm you anymore.”
