In this week’s Subhash Chandra Show, Shri Subhash Chandra interacts with the students of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore on the topic of ‘What is the purpose of life?’
With over 800 students in the audience, he asks them if they have ever wondered what their purpose in life is? And thought ‘I have lost my purpose in life.’ He says, “As long as we acknowledge this and keep looking for the purpose, then we have not lost our purpose.” He also opened the platform and listened to the students’ replies on what their purpose of life is. He says, “Knowing your purpose can alone give direction to your life.”
Sharing his views and insights, Subhashji makes the students realize the importance of having a Purpose in life. To lead a happy and a satisfactory life, one needs to have a purpose in life. With this, Subhashji also says, Gautam Buddha has said that “your purpose in life is to find purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it”.
“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
To give students a better understanding of the topic, Dr. Lalita Sharma was called on the stage. Lalitaji is a teacher who used to teach in prestigious college during the day time and after her college hours, would teach the underprivileged children of her society, free of cost. “The purpose of my life is to give back to the society. If you are educated, then serve the society to the fullest.”
Subhashji says, “A life full of purpose is a life full of vitality, excitement and ultimately success. If your purpose is pure, success will come to you.” He shares 3 things about purpose of life –
1: Your purpose in life should be to discover your true self.
2: Each person is born with a unique talent, you need to express it.
3: Service not only to Humanity but all beings.
He adds that, Being successful should be not be the only purpose of life.
