In this week’s episode of the Subhash Chandra Show held in Nashik, Shri Subhash Chandra focuses on ‘How to Maintain a Work Life Balance.’
These days trying to maintain a work life balance is a major stress. Today, this balance is nearly impossible. Subhashji feels that one needs to prioritize things to lead a balanced life. One can devote time to all the necessary things through discipline and by knowing how to maintain work life balance. During the session, Subhashji threw some light on religion, meaning of life, work and salvation.
He begins by throwing the question open to the audience and asks them about living a balanced life. He hears the different views, while some focus on family and spirituality others focused on following one’s passion. He says, “I believe that in life, irrespective of your profession, you will get success only when you are able to take time for everything. And it is only possible when you bring balance and discipline in life.”
Subhashji adds that prioritizing things in life is just as important as balancing your life. He says, “Every time you say Yes to something, you are saying No to something else.”
Subhashji introduces Shri Harshal Vibhandik – Managing Director, International Capital Partners LLC (PE Firm in New York) who is currently working abroad after completing his B.Tech, but never forgot his roots and the time he spent studying in one of Dhule’s ZP schools. He was inspired by PM Modi’s call for digitization of India and thought of a way to help ZP school.
Harshal came back to his home town Dhule – a tribal district in North Maharashtra – and started working on “Digital School Initiative” since September 2015. “In 18 months, I visited 1,000+ villages and Zilla Parishad (Z.P.) Government Schools in rural and tribal areas in Dhule district to create awareness about the importance of digital education and educate school principals and teachers about how to set up digital classroom in their school and what are their benefits.”
To elaborate on the subject of prioritizing tasks, Subhashji shared the four mantras that our elders have given for a family person:
These are all in the order of priority, if you get one the second will come and so on.
The second guest is changemaker Dr. Shrikant Anant Purnapatre, Founder Adharashram, an orphanage engaged in welfare and rehabilitation of orphan child and destitute women. The orphanage has been working for the last 34 years. He has been instrumental in organizing 60 marriages of Ashram Kanyas and for adoption of more than 810 orphans. He shares his insight on work-life balance and what it means to him. He says, “Keep focus on the goal and you will keep moving and get success, there are always ups and downs.”
Subhashji adds that, “Challenges are within yourself.”
Subhashji says there are two ways to live life, one is to know your religion. It could be my family, my work or my business, it could be community, our children’s future. It is the religion of a businessman to make money. One way to live is to follow your religion. There are those who have no care about anything in the world. The wake up, work, do not take care of their health and just keep living life. But this is no way to life. He adds, “When you are born, you cried as the world laughed. Conduct yourself in a such a way that when you leave this world, you go laughing and the world weeps your loss.”
