June 14 is observed as the World Blood Donor Day to help spread awareness about blood donation and how it can help someone who may be in dire need in a medical emergency. Shri Subhash Chandra shared how a simple yet effective initiative in Pendra in Chhattisgarh is helping connect blood donors to those in need of blood.

Subhash Ji explains how Alok Ji created a group on WhatsApp called ‘Hospital, Blood, Medicine’ that included the people from the near by villages and some doctors from the hospitals in the area. Whenever there is a requirement for blood, people in the group are informed about it by putting it on the WhatsApp group.

There are three groups that have about 500 people in it and if anyone wants to donate their blood they can get in touch via this group and do so. Subhash Ji also shared that almost 200 people have got help from this group in the last three months alone. He also urged his followers on social media to reply in their comments on his post if they know of any other such initiative, so that this information may benefit maximum number of people as well.
