At Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Research Park in Chennai, Shri Subhash Chandra addressed the entrepreneurs and students whose companies and projects were incubated by the IITM Research Park.

He also tweeted hailing the wonders these start ups and incubation units are doing. Tagging the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s twitter handle, he suggested that, “If the Government of India officials could visit the event it would change their belief that, Bharat cannot lead in any product and hence we need to import.”

During his address, he lauded the incredible work done by everyone. He said, “In the corridors of power and in the corporate world, many believe that India cannot be a leader and we have to be followers. If they come here they will not say these words again.”  He emphasized the importance of a positive attitude and said that, “Person with positive attitude cannot be stopped and person with negative attitude cannot be helped.”

Speaking about venturing in to something new, he shared that, “Before we start something, it always seems impossible until it is done.” Acknowledging the immense talent and potential of the institution he added, “At this research center, people do not believe that anything is impossible.” Elaborating on how we, ourselves, impose limitations that cage our potential, he quoted Swami Vivekanada Ji’s words saying, “There’s nothing impossible for the human beings. Limitations are created by ourselves. We create our boundaries”

He further added that all of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings talk about this one line ‘Aham Brahmasmi’ that means ‘I am Brahma, I can do anything and everything’ and said, “Today, I have seen the practical aspect of it here.”

Sharing his personal learnings he said, “I always say that- live life by design not by default. Knowledge, wisdom and positive energy enable us to design our life. Person who lives by design is the one who is living. That’s what differentiates us from other beings.”

He concluded his address by reiterating the importance of maintaining a positive attitude in life. He wished the participants the best for their future endeavours and said, “I’m sure you all in this room will continue to show that there is all positivity around us all. I’m taking away lots of positives from you all.”
